BIG IDEA

If someone is sharing your intimate image or threatening to share your images, it is not your fault and you do not have to deal with it by yourself. There are people to support you and ways to take back control.

Sextortion

Remember, it is not your fault. The person who is threatening you is the person who has done something illegal and wrong - not you.

Safety

Reach out to a crisis line like KidsHelpPhone.ca. Text CONNECT to 686868 or call 1-800-668-6868 to chat with a crisis responder.

What to do if you are being sextorted

  1. Stop talking to them right away. Block the person who is threatening you. Never send more pictures or pay any money.
  2. Save it. Save or take screenshots of all the messages and photos. These can be used as evidence later. DO NOT DELETE!
  3. Report it. Report the harassment and threats to the app you are using.
  4. Get Help. Talk to a trusted adult for support and report to the police.

You don’t have to deal with this alone – there are people and resources to help you.
